Inspiration Quote for the Day
“Some debts are fun when you are acquiring them, but none are fun when you set about retiring them.”

No Letter Arrived. Dale’s Card Rate Went Up Anyway.
Dale pays his cards in full most months, and carries a balance when the furnace or the dentist says otherwise. In October he carried one. The statement showed a rate a quarter point higher than August’s. It applied to money he had borrowed before the change. He went looking for the notice he was sure he had missed.
There was no notice, and the issuer broke no rule. Most cards sold today carry a variable rate written as the prime rate plus a margin. When prime moves, the rate moves with it. The law that normally requires 45 days of warning makes an explicit exception for exactly that.

How Much of Your Financial Life Is Visible?
Your paycheck, your IRA, your bank account, each one moves through institutions that report, monitor and flag. That is the system working as designed, and it is also why a growing number of retirement savers want part of their wealth held outside it. Priority Gold’s free guide explains the legal, IRS-approved way to do that.

► New card offers averaged 23.96% in October, a third straight monthly rise, in LendingTree’s read of about 220 cards
► Accounts actually charged interest averaged 22.36% in the third quarter, up from 22.15%
► The Fed raised its target to 3.75% to 4% on September 16, its first increase since July 2023
► The committee meets again today and tomorrow, with a hold widely expected
► A hold stops the next increase, and it does not undo the last one
Why It Matters for Your Money
Regulation Z requires a card issuer to give 45 days of notice before raising your rate. The rule then lists what it does not cover. One item is a variable rate increase that follows an index outside the creditor’s control and open to the general public. Prime is both.
The second half matters more. A card issuer generally cannot apply a higher rate to a balance you already owe. The exception for index-driven increases sits outside that protection, so the new rate reaches the old balance.
A rate increase the issuer chooses must leave your existing balance alone. One the index hands it does not. That is the difference between a letter and a statement.
The letter version gives you 45 days, the right to reject the change, and protection for what you already borrowed. The index version arrives as a slightly larger minimum payment and a number in small type.
☕ Key Insight:
Your rate is not a figure the issuer set once. It is a formula, and the only part fixed in writing is the margin. Ask what your margin is, because that is the piece that follows you from one Fed decision to the next.
The Coffee Break Move
Find the rate on your current statement and the one from August, and note the gap. Then read the interest rate section of your cardholder agreement and look for the words prime plus. The number after those words is your margin.
If you are carrying a balance, the margin is worth negotiating. A call asking for a lower one costs nothing. Balance transfer offers still exist, though the fee now commonly runs 3% to 5% of what you move. Run that fee against the interest you would avoid before taking one.

Back in June 2000…
Washington tried to sue a powerful foreign “cartel” for price-fixing on American soil.
The government back then failed.
Now, Trump is moving to finish what Washington couldn’t…
Without ever stepping inside a courtroom.
My readers had the chance to capture fast payouts like $2,482… $7,623… and even $8,704…
All in eight days or less.
I’ve tracked this specific ticker since my days running a hedge fund ranked in the top 1% worldwide by Barron’s.
I’m giving you the name and ticker symbol completely free…

A hold tomorrow freezes the index where it is. It leaves every increase since September in place, on every balance those increases already reached.
Prime has not moved since that September meeting, so a card that repriced in October has already taken the whole of it. A card that has not yet repriced will do so on the issuer’s own schedule.
Rates move money as well as payments. The next message is from a partner, on where some of it has been going.

Your “Diversified” Portfolio Is Just 10 Stocks in a Trench Coat
Something just happened to your retirement account.
Goldman Sachs revealed that the top 10 stocks in the S&P 500 now control 41% of the entire index.
This level of concentration has not been seen since the Great Depression, almost 100 years ago.
Companies like Tesla, Nvidia, and Meta now command large portions of your portfolio, even if you never personally bought a single share.
But here is what makes this even more alarming.
Those same 10 companies are also the top weights in the Nasdaq and the Russell 1000.
So if you thought spreading your money across multiple index funds meant you were diversified, you’ve been lied to.
You own the same 10 tech giants. Over and over again.
And if they stumble, your entire retirement stumbles with them.
That’s why so many Americans are moving to physical gold.
They want true diversification.
Gold is not tied to the stock market. It is not tied to tech earnings. And when markets collapse, gold has historically done the opposite.
When the dot-com bubble burst, gold went up.
When the 2008 crisis wiped out trillions, gold went up.
When the 2020 panic hit, gold hit all-time highs.
You don’t have to leave your retirement exposed.
Thousands of Americans are using a little-known IRS-approved rollover to move a portion of their retirement savings into physical gold.
This is how you protect it.
Sincerely,
Anchor Point Research
P.S. Gold ownership is taking off. In 2020, 11% of Americans owned gold. In 2026, that number has skyrocketed to 38%. See how to add gold to your retirement before the next market crash hits.
